I have had the privilege of teaching at Harrow Shenzhen since 2022. Since joining, I have been provided with exceptional opportunities for career professional development and growth, supported by a forward-thinking leadership team who are passionate about driving the school forward. At Harrow Shenzhen, I have found a good balance – the challenge and reward of working at a high-performing global school, combined with a warm, mutually-respectable atmosphere. In a fast-paced environment, it’s important to work in a school that values and trusts its staff and Harrow Shenzhen ticks this box. I’ve made lifelong friends at Harrow Shenzhen and I would highly recommend our school as a workplace for educators who are passionate about their development as much as their students’.
Alexander Sutch

Working at Harrow Shenzhen has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The school fosters a supportive and collaborative environment where professional growth is truly prioritised. I’ve had the chance to take part in valuable training and development programmes that have expanded my expertise and opened doors to new opportunities. What stands out most is the sense of community and shared commitment to excellence—making Harrow Shenzhen not just a workplace, but a place where you can thrive.
Natalie Dirkze
Lower School Pastoral Coordinator
I have been consistently impressed by the students’ attitude to learning, their commitment to the school, and their passion for the House system. I have also been impressed by the Harrow Diploma Activity programme, which is fully embedded in school life and genuinely supports the vision of developing students holistically.
The team have been fantastic, providing great support during our adjustment to a new country and a new school. There is also a strong sense of community among teachers and wider staff, with regular social events that help you settle in and feel connected.
I would recommend working in the Upper School at Harrow Shenzhen if you hold high standards for your own teaching and pastoral care, and if you enjoy being part of a vibrant school calendar filled with varied events and spirited student-focused competitions.

Upper School Economics and Business Studies Teacher + Head of House
Harrow Shenzhen is more than just a workplace; it is a thriving community of professionals working together against the backdrop of a modern and dynamic city. The school actively invests in leadership pathways, equipping staff with the confidence and skills to embrace new challenges. Since joining, I have been supported through generous CPD allowances and mentoring opportunities, including the IPCSL programme. Harrow Shenzhen fosters an open-minded culture where ideas are welcomed, projects are nurtured, and roles are tailored to individual strengths, ensuring endless growth and meaningful impact. I have had the freedom to design projects that align with my passions and see them flourish, which has been incredibly rewarding.
Zaynah Lyons
Director of Care, Guidance and Support
Harrow Shenzhen is a hive of activity where excellence is expected from its students and staff body. Staff are regularly given opportunities to enhance professional skillsets through CPD. We are encouraged to work collaboratively with our colleagues in school and at other Harrow campus’ such as Hong Kong and Bangkok. I have felt heard and respected by Senior Leadership to make decisions that benefit my students.
Everyone at Harrow is very friendly. There were ‘no silly questions’ and the Senior Leadership Team have been nothing but supportive and helpful. I thought moving to Shenzhen would be complicated and take a lot of adjustment but it has surpassed our expectations. We love the easy access to explore Hong Kong and other parts of China. There are always plenty of things to do and we are starting to build a community of friends from school and the wider expat community too.
