Regina first walked through the gates of Harrow Shenzhen as a Year 8 student who was still hesitant to raise her hand in class. Her journey is not defined by a single spectacular achievement, but by countless small yet significant moments over six years at Harrow Shenzhen.

The First Lesson at Harrow:

Facing Herself

While raising her hand marked the beginning of reaching outward, stepping onto the TEDx stage marked the moment Regina learned to face herself.

Regina

It was the first time she stood before the whole school and spoke openly about her struggle with imposter syndrome.

Imposter syndrome is a psychological phenomenon characterised by persistent self-doubt regarding one’s achievements, accompanied by a persistent internalised fear of being exposed as a “fraud”.

Regina recalls, Through that experience, I not only discovered my confidence and passion for public speaking, but I also took a major step toward overcoming that personal challenge.

“The Harrow ethos of fostering future leaders has led to the creation of a school community where proactiveness is rewarded. Every initiative is supported and every voice is heard.”

In the summer of 2025, serving as a Head Girl, Regina and Michael undertook on a special assignment: representing the school in a panel discussion with industry leaders during the inauguration of Harrow Guangzhou. It was her first time collaborating with student leaders from other Harrow schools and connecting with professionals across various fields.

From founding student to graduate, from a shy girl to Head Girl, and from the Harrow classrooms to educational summits— she learned how to embrace her imperfections and transform vulnerability into strength.

“What I’m most proud of is the journey of growth I experienced at Harrow Shenzhen. With each passing year, I sensed that I was evolving into a better person — someone who could contribute more to the world.”

Last summer, Regina and two classmates travelled to the UK to participate in the Cambridge Economics and Finance Competition Global Final. Competing against top students from around the world, their team won both the Team Gold Award and the Team Innovation Award. Individually, Regina was rewarded a Gold Award and recognised as Outstanding Speaker — making her the most awarded participant in the competition.

She also earned a Gold Award in LAMDA Public Speaking, attaining an exceptional score of 95%, equivalent to 30 UCAS points. That same year, she received a High Distinction at the John Locke Summer School, widely regarded as one of the most prestigious academic programmes in the UK.

A Vision for the Future:

Contributing to Society

When asked about her future future aspirations, Regina’s eyes shone with determination.

 Regina

“I want to make meaningful contributions to society through policy‑making — especially in industry and technology. I believe this direction is imperative to building a sustainable and responsible future, and I would love to be part of that journey.”

That dream took root early in Harrow Shenzhen’s classrooms. By observing how technological innovation accelerates, and how people and governments respond, she recognised that political decisions are pivotal in guiding the trajectory of technological development.

图片

The Social Data Science is the perfectly reflects her interdisciplinary vision — leveraging data to explore social issues while applying algorithmic logic to public policy. It is neither a traditional “humanities” nor “sciences” path, but a future‑oriented approach that seamlessly integrates both.

“Say YES”:

A Message to Younger Students

For those starting their Harrow journey, Regina offers a piece of advice — a line from the Head of Upper School that she has never forgotten:

“To always try and say yes.”

Say yes to opportunities, yes to challenges,

yes to the unknown, yes to growth.

图片

Regina’s story is one of initiative,

courage, and growth. It is also the kind of story that

awaits every Harrow Shenzhen student

who walks through the school’s gates.
