A Boston University offer arrived
right on schedule—and
it was only the start.
Kitty, a founding student
at Harrow Shenzhen, has since received
offers to study Public Health
from some of the world’s
most prestigious universities:
– University College London
(QS World University Ranking #9)
– University of Hong Kong
(QS World University Ranking #11)
– King’s College London
But what truly defines Kitty is
not the list of elite institutions—
it’s the lasting imprint she has left
on Harrow Shenzhen over the past
six years. An imprint far warmer
than any admissions letter.

Six Years at Harrow Shenzhen
If she had to summarize her years at Harrow in three words, Kitty would choose:
Kitty
Class of 2026
Challenging, worthwhile, life‑changing. Harrow Shenzhen kept pushing me beyond my comfort zone. Above all, it transformed the way I think, lead, and grow.
From university guidance that began in Year 7, to mentorship for her EPQ on breast cancer and environmental factors; from the Harrow Diploma Activities that encourage students to launch their own initiatives, to the thoughtful support of the school’s administration—every part of this school works to turn students’ aspirations into reality for students like Kitty.

In turn, Kitty has used her actions to make the school a better place.

Awakening Female Strength
on Campus
During a school trip with the volleyball team, Kitty noticed that free sanitary products were neatly arranged in the girls’ toilets. Back at Harrow Shenzhen, an idea took root: I want to make a difference for the girls at my own school.
Thus, “Her Time Flows” was born—a student‑led society founded by Kitty.

Her Time Flows not only reflects the female cycle, but also embodies the hope that every girl can build strength over time and grow into a stronger version of herself.
Kitty knew that real change required two steps: raising awareness, and ensuring access.
First, alongside fellow students Morris T. and Liza W., she visited younger classes—using presentations and posters to openly discuss menstruation, breaking the silence and shame often associated with it.
Second, Kitty obtained full support from the school to collaborate on sourcing and placing sanitary products and women’s care items in campus bathrooms. Kitty and her team piloted the programme— monitoring daily usage, recording data, ensuring its smooth operation.
The outcome exceeded all expectations. Even the boys became aware of and supported the initiative. Eventually, the school made the programme permanent—ensuring that its positive impact continues.

Lessons in Leadership Through Competition
When asked about her most memorable experience at Harrow Shenzhen, Kitty highlights more than academic accolades. She shares a story of transformation—as newly appointed Senior House Captain, she led her House’s production of Moana.
Lighting, choreography, props, choir, solos, band, electronic accompaniment … every element required her coordination.
“That was the first time I truly led a team. The pressure arose not only from expectations, but also from the competitive environment.”

We worked together to succeed, and that experience completely changed my understanding of leadership—it’s not about controlling everything, but about staying calm in chaos, uniting people through disagreement, and making decisions under pressure.
