Ava (高煜)于山东师范大学取得文学学士学位,后就读于美国常春藤盟校宾夕法尼亚大学,并取得教育理学硕士学位。留美期间,Ava曾任教于Upenn面向费城移民的外语学习项目,并担任英文主讲老师的职位。在她的实习生涯中,她曾为来自世界各地、各年龄段的移民进行英语教学。作为一名热情的外语学习者和教育者,Ava有多年的外语教学经历,她致力于为语言学习者提供帮助。

何颖毕业于香港大学,拥有教育学院对外汉语专业的硕士学位,并获得IBDP教师资格认证以及国内的教师资格证。她在香港和深圳的国际学校都有过相关工作经验,教学年级跨越小学一年级至高中十二年级。她有各种各样丰富的兴趣爱好,包括舞蹈,书法以及绘画。她相信她会确保通过教学使学生的学术优秀同时也保证学习的机会是多样化以及有吸引力的。

Louise Kagan

Year 1 Teacher – Key Stage One Leader

Louise graduated from the University of Otago with a Bachelor in Education, Endorsed in Primary Education. She has more than 10 years of experience working in education. Louise taught in England, New Zealand, and Russia before joining Harrow Beijing in 2017. Originally from New Zealand, Louise has a range of experience teaching students from Reception through to Year 6, teaching outdoor education and conducting research for the Ministry of Education. In her spare time, she enjoys horse riding, flying and baking!

Kevin Neeson

Early years class teacher

Mr Neeson graduated from the university of Glasgow with a B.Sc Hons in Zoology in 2006 before taking on the challenge of gaining his PGCE and QTS in 2013 from Northumbria university. A trained early years specialist, Mr Neeson has worked across all Key stages in his career. As an experienced international teacher, Mr Neeson spent 5 years working in Singapore, he brings with him a wealth of knowledge of working with children from a broad range of cultural backgrounds. As Key stage leader, Mr Neeson enjoys working with students and colleagues to ensure that teaching and learning remains engaging, challenging and fun. He welcomes feedback from all members of the school community and is happy for parents and students to contact him if they have any questions. His personal passions include singing, traveling and exploring both local and foreign terrain on foot, he loves nothing more than packing a bag and hiking out into the wilderness.  His love of music and nature are hugely influential in his teaching and learning and he enjoys engaging students in learning about the world around them and always has a song to help! In addition to his personal professional reading and development, Mr Neeson has qualifications in speech and language support and is currently undertaking hi NPQSL (National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership) through University College London.

Jessica Pooley-Litt

Early years class teacher

Miss Jessica Pooley-Litt graduated from the University of Manchester in 2013 with a BA Hons in English Literature. From 2015-2020, she taught English and Drama in Manchester, UK, and took on the roles of Head of English and Drama, Deputy Head of Communications and Saturday School Coordinator, developing the curriculum and driving GCSE results across the school with focused and targeted intervention. Jessica has a wealth of experience in teaching students who speak English as a Second Language and in ensuring they develop the levels of English needed to succeed in life as well as examinations. She has been an English GCSE examiner in the UK since 2017.

James Toner

Head of Learning and Information Services

James Toner graduated from the University of Roehampton where he read Drama, Theatre and Performance Studies. He has since gone on to obtain Master degrees in International Management at the University of Chester, and Library and Information Services Management at the University of Sheffield.  Prior to arriving at Harrow Shenzhen, James Toner was Head of Library Services for a large multi-site international school in Doha, Qatar. In addition to this, he was a Lecturer and Module Coordinator at University College London Qatar, delivering their ‘Services to Children and Schools’ module as part of the MA Library and Information Studies Programme. He is a current committee member for IFLA’s ‘Library Services to Multicultural Populations’ section, as well as being part of the ‘Information, Knowledge and Innovation Management’ research group at the University of Sheffield.

A Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, he has held a number of teaching and support positions within education and has been involved in information and library services development, most notably within higher education within the UK. As such, he brings with him a wealth of experience in supporting students and staff in developing the skills needed to succeed academically and become lifelong learners. 

As an active researcher, James’ expertise is predominantly rooted in library strategy and policy, information/knowledge exchange and application (particularly within culturally diverse environments), as well as leadership strategies, organisational learning and culture. Having written for publication and presented at national and international conferences, he is currently undertaking his PhD study, looking at the interactive potential of individual and team-based characteristics on knowledge sharing within international schools.
